A little less than two years ago I walked in to Newman's admissions office and asked what I needed to fill out in order to enroll. They were a bit flummoxed. They made me sit and watch a promotional video while they figured it out. I guess nobody had just walked in and asked to sign up before. I think that pretty much sums up my entire college experience here.
Great professors, great classes, lousy bureaucracy. Learning is good, but colleges? Colleges, not so good. |

| The TV here at the Wichita Eagle has been on for the past 5 hours that I've been here so the guys at the sports desk can half-watch, half-listen to the NCAA tournament. In that span of time, I believe I've heard the commercial for the iPod shuffle about 9 times. I really want to go out and buy the Caesars' cd now, just so I can have that song.
We had a rousing discussion tonight over whether run-off is a word (as in gas run-off) and if so, is it hyphenated? Copy editors have all the fun in this world. |
